School's In!

I just finished the second lecture in an accent and dialect master class I'm taking, which is being presented by Eliza Jane Schneider, and I've got to say it's pretty fascinating.

The funny thing is, thought I know I stumbled across it online, I can't recall exactly where. It may have been an email, or possibly a targeted ad. Whatever it was, I'm glad I saw it because I'm really learning a lot about how sounds are formed across different accents.

I'm looking forward to mastering some new dialects (as well as a few I thought  I'd already mastered). More importantly, I'm looking forward to having the skills to pick up new accents as I need them. You can never have too many tools in the toolbox.

(Yes, I know "accent" and "dialect" aren't really synonymous. So sue me. )
